Paul Rudd Is PEOPLE'S Sexiest Man Alive in 2021: 'I'm having business cards printed.'
Paul Rudd is struggling to embrace his new position as PEOPLE's 2021 Sexiest Man Alive.
The 52-year-old actor has heard it all: gentle, self-deprecating, amiable, and industrious, all of which he has embraced to some extent. But is it sexy? That's a touch out of his comfort zone.
"I have enough knowledge to know that when people learn I've been chosen for this, they'll exclaim, 'What?'" the actor tells PEOPLE in this week's cover storey. "This isn't phoney humility. There are a lot of individuals who should have gotten this before me."

Rudd's unassuming demeanour, along with his stunning green eyes and easy grin, is exactly why viewers have fallen in love with him throughout the years. This month alone, he'll be reuniting with Will Ferrell for the new Apple TV+ comedy The Shrink Next Door, as well as taking on one of Hollywood's most beloved properties, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Despite his meteoric climb to prominence, Rudd claims he's most content at home with his wife of 18 years, Julie, and his two children, Jack, 17, and Darby, 12.
"When I think of myself, I think of myself as a spouse and parent, as if I'm that," he adds. "When I'm not working, I just spend time with my family. That's what I'm drawn to the most."

The actor's wife was the only one he informed about his new title ahead of time.
"She was dumbfounded," he adds. "But, as you know, she was really kind about it. She responded, 'Oh, they got it correctly,' after some chuckling and disbelief. That was really nice. What was she going to say if she wasn't speaking the truth?"
Rudd reportedly anticipates "so much sadness" from his circle of pals.
"As it should be. I'd do it, "He agrees. "I mean, I'm going to throw myself into it wholeheartedly. I'm going to take charge of this. I'm not going to attempt to come off as 'Oh, I'm so modest.' I'm having business cards printed. But all of my buddies are going to ruin me, and I fully expect them to. That is why they are my buddies."
Rudd expects his life to change "a lot" now that he's officially attractive.
"I'm hoping that now I'll be invited to some of those steamy meals with Clooney, Pitt, and B Jordan," he says. "And I expect to be aboard a lot more yachts in the future. I'm looking forward to expanding my sailing experience. And I'll definitely strive to improve my brooding skills in low-light situations. I enjoy thinking about things. This, I believe, will help me become more introverted and mysterious. I'm looking forward to it."
