The Minnesota Vikings and the Minnetrista Police Department are dealing with an issue involving defensive end Everson Griffen news, who has refused to leave his house after posting a series of alarming Instagram postings early Wednesday morning saying that someone was attempting to murder him.

Griffen contacted 911 from his home about 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Minnetrista Public Safety Department. He said that someone was inside his residence and asked police help. Griffen also informed the 911 operator that he had shot a firearm but no one had been hurt.

Griffen has been in contact with law police and Vikings team psychiatrists since about 7 a.m., according to the press release, but he has refused to leave his home. Griffen's home was searched but no intruder was found, according to police.

Griffen posted multiple Instagram postings early Wednesday morning, all of which have since been removed, including a video of the defensive end inside his house with a handgun that he said belonged to him.

"I've arrived at my residence. Trying to pop me, N" In the video, Griffen says. "I've got a few clips left. This is my weapon,. I'm the owner of 45 Wilson Combat. All of my ammunition were purchased in town. Dalvin Cook aided me in purchasing this weapon. It's all mine, and they're all registered to me. I remember precisely where I got them. I've got the card I'm using for them. Everything is in my possession."

Griffen posted in an Instagram storey, "I need assistance from those who are attempting to murder me. At my own home, "He also shared screenshots of a text exchange with his agent, Brian Murphy of Athletes First, in which he allegedly sought 911 assistance.

Griffen is "certain" he is alone inside the house, and police are working with him to settle the matter.

The Vikings announced in a statement that "Vikings personnel and the team's mental health specialists have been on-site at Everson Griffen's residence since early this morning and are collaborating with local police." "Our sole worry at this time is Everson's and his family's safety and well-being. We'll have more to say about it when the time comes."

Cook told reporters in the Twin Cities on Wednesday that he had no idea why he was included in Griffen's video, but that he had phoned and texted the defensive end earlier in the day to check in on him. Griffen did not respond, according to Cook.

"He was one of the elder men who took me under his wing and showed me, 'This is what you don't do, this is how you do it, this is how you take care of your body,'" Cook said. "What it takes to be a pro. Appreciate him for it, for the little gestures he made. Our bond has become stronger since he returned. He's been putting in an effort to win games. We've all been on the same objective, just trying to win games, improve, and lead this squad in the right direction. As a result, we're really close. That's my brother over there. I simply want him to be okay, to make sure his family is okay in his mind. I just want what is best for Everson in the long run."

When asked whether Griffen was safe, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said he wasn't sure. Zimmer was also unsure about the defensive end's availability for Minnesota's Week 12 game against San Francisco.

"No, that's not anything we're concerned about right now," Zimmer said. "It's all about him," says the narrator.

Griffen took a month off during his first season with the Vikings in 2018 to concentrate on his health and well-being after the organisation ordered him to undergo a mental health exam and he was hospitalised following two incidents with police officers. In April 2019, he admitted to having had a "difficult year" with his mental health.

Zimmer said he spoke to the squad on Wednesday morning and that general manager Rick Spielman will address the media later in the day.

"All we care about is his well-being," Zimmer added. "He's been around for quite some time. He's a good man. Worked really hard."
